Good riddance to 2020 and hello ‘21 (be gentle)

2020 was a year that most of us want to forget, and although the dreaded pandemic isn’t over yet, there is some light at the end of the tunnel with a vaccine on the horizon!

Before we share a little mocktail recipe we’ve come up with, here are some ideas of how you can start the year with a bang to stay happy and motivated in 2021.

Although with the year we’ve had, changing your diet might not be top of your priority list, trying out new recipes and ingredients is a great way to keep yourself entertained during the winter months. Eating vegan also helps reduce your carbon footprint and can even boost your health and energy levels!

Vegan ingredients are also now far better stocked in supermarkets, so forget dry nut roasts and inedible quinoa, the dishes you can create can be surprisingly tasty!

Check out some recipes on the official Veganuary website if you want some super inspiration.

Also, remember that all of Soda Folk’s delicious flavours are vegan, so they’re the perfect accompaniment to any meat-free meal.

Dry January

This is rather self-explanatory, but going booze free for a month can help you feel heaps better after a little over-indulgence over the festive season. I mean there’s no shame in it...we’ve all been there, right? Substituting a beer for one of our tasty sodas is an easy way to cut down your alcohol intake whilst still treating yourself!

You can also jazz it up a little for an extra bit of indulgence - why not add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to your cream soda? Alternatively, here’s another mocktail recipe you can try our below.

Grape sunset mocktail

  • 1x can of Grape Soda
  • 100 mls of sparkling water
  • A handful of blueberries or grapes
  • 150 mls of orange juice

Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker (be careful not to shake too vigorously to avoid any fizz explosions!). Prepare two highball glasses with ice in. Pour in the contents and garnish with additional blueberries and grapes to your own style and taste!

Show us your creations!
